HELPING OTHERS
Lourdes Pilgrimage Fund
A huge thank you to everyone who pledged donations for Y18B's sponsored bike ride on 18th July. Enough was raised to help the group get to Greenbelt in late August and over £150 was given to the Lourdes Pilgrimage Sick Fund! Thank you for all your support!

The date for this year’s sale to raise money for RTU is Saturday 27th March at St Symphorians Coffee Shop, off New Road, Durrington from 10am – 1.30pm and then before and after all three masses the same weekend at St Michael’s. Raffle tickets will be on sale the week before. Inspired by an extremely generous parishioner who is contributing the full cost to treat a child under the Nagajothi Fund, the money raised from this sale will solely be used to support the children from the poorest of poor backgrounds to provide them with the essential medical care they so desperately need. They are disabled and the money will help with hospitalization, surgery and prostheses. For the sale to be a success - Quality goods and volunteers are essential please. Please see the Church noticeboard and RTU board for more details or call me on 07889 170416. Thank you. Jenny Stevens, RTU Co-ordinator.
Thank you to the kind parishioner who advised me of the following: Everyclick.com is a new category of search engine that allows you to search the internet just as efficiently as any other; the big difference is that every click you make benefits a charity of your choosing, at no extra cost to you. You can enter RTU as your charity and every little helps!
Helping young people in Western Kenya by improving primary education facilities.
Many thanks to everyone who purchased Christmas plants. The proceeds went to Kimilili and Christmas lunch was served to over 200 needy children. At 10.30 on Christmas morning we had a telephone call - which Jan took - as they all sat to eat. What a present! Jan and John Gribben
Helping to prevent babies and children, especially those with disabilities, from being abandoned and brought up in orphanages. The Charity also supports disaffected youngsters in England and Wales by taking small teams overland to work in Belarus.
News about Nastya. I am sure you will all be delighted to know that I was invited to join Nastya, her Mum and Step Dad for a review consultation with Professor Hayward at Great Ormond Street Hospital. All seems to be going well but a full week of further tests has been booked for November. This time I had nothing to do with the arrangements; everything was organised through the health authorities in Cardiff. Last year when this was a possibility I wrote to everyone on the 'Nastya database' offering either to return a portion of individual donations or to transfer the balance (£3,250.00) to other needy children needing specialist treatment. Everyone who responded asked for the money to be used for other children. We have, therefore, used some of the money for Egor who has a rare skin condition. More info is available on the website (www.leaves-of-hope.co.uk) or phone (873737) or email mbamford@foxlea10.fsnet.co.uk As always my profound thanks to everyone for your generosity and love. Worthing Churches Homeless Project
Offering care, support and accommodation to the most vulnerable and excluded members of our community.
Worthing Churches Homeless Projects are organising a jewellery recycling fundraising idea and have found a reputable partner who will value old, broken or unwanted items of jewellery and then make a donation to CHP based on their worth. You can do a full 'spring clean' or just given tiems you no longer wear. Even damaged, broken and incomplete items will help, all the odd earrings and broken chains are a great start. Please have a good clear out and don't be afraid of letting valuable items go, all donated items will be carefully sifted through before they are recycled. Gloria Morgan is willing to act as an organiser for our church, so if you have any items to donate, please email her via the Contact Us section (or via the parish office) to arrange delivery.
